My name is Nelleke. I work as student counselor at UCR.
My counseling experience is in the field of young people, at the beginning of their adult life. Since I finished my Bachelor of Social Work in 2006, I have always been working with young adults. In groupwork and in individual coaching and counseling. With counseling, I help young adults better understand themselves and find their way in this, sometimes overwhelming and intense, part of their life.
I have worked on an international sail trainings vessel for two years, where students could spend a gap year. Here I learned a lot about different cultures and the (mental) effects of living closely together with people from all different backgrounds. Back in the Netherlands I worked as a Student Counselor at an academic College in Zwolle. In 2018 I moved, with my young family, to Zeeland. I am thankful to get the opportunity to be part of the UCR-team to mentally support the students of this international University.
