About me

I am Associate Professor of Anthropology at University College Roosevelt. I did extensive fieldwork on localism and primary religion in Italy, and – not unexpectedly – am an honorary citizen of Italian town Calvello (PZ). I also did field research into socio-economic transformation in Wroclaw, Poland. My main interests are historical anthropology, political and socio-cultural transformations in Eurasia, and their outcomes in local and regional contexts. Recently, I have taught summer courses on ‘China and the Dynamics of Globalization’ at the Fudan University in Shanghai.

Herman Tak is an honorary citizen of Italian town Calvello (PZ).
