Degree Liberal Arts

A degree in Liberal Arts offers foundational knowledge across many different subject areas. Students who follow a Liberal Arts degree will be exposed to ideas and subjects varying from Art History to Computer Science and Mathematics. For example, with a Liberal Arts degree you are able to combine courses in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics, Law and Linguistics, Philosophy and Physics and so on. The educational concept of this Liberal Arts program is based on the principle that many of today’s complex problems can only be solved with a multidisciplinary approach. When following a Liberal Arts program, students can compose their own Bachelor’s program that depend on their interests.

At UCR, you will live and study together with other students from around the world on our international campus, located in Middelburg (Zeeland). The key differences between a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science are that a Bachelor of Arts typically requires more courses in the Humanities or Social Sciences while a Bachelor of Science is a major in Science or Engineering. During the interdisciplinary Liberal Arts Degree at UCR, you will learn to understand complex global issues and search for creative solutions by combining insights from different scientific disciplines.
