Undergraduate Research Conference
In 2015, the undergraduate research conference was held in Middelburg again. Approximately forty undergraduate students, from across the Universities and University Colleges of the Netherlands, were invited to present after their abstracts had been anonymously reviewed and selected. The winning research projects on the day were as follows:
Best undergraduate research project award
First place: Brenda Assendelft, University of Leiden.
“The ‘red’ and ‘green’ word order in Dutch subordinate clauses: A historical-sociolinguistic perspective”
Second place: Elisabeth G. I. Nieuwburg, Utrecht University
“What to say when they won’t l et you play? The effectiveness of cognitive reappraisal on social exclusion”
Third place: Ilona Plug, Emma Turkenburg & Jochem Aben, Radboud University
"Rhinos on wheels: Visual metaphors in advertising"
In 2016 the UCR Undergraduate Research Conference will join forces with the Science Works / VSNU annual Student Research Conference as a core partner. The conference will be held on November 30th at Radboud University in Nijmegen. More information can be found here. The UCR Director of Research is also a permanent member of the Student Research Conference (SRC) Advisory Board.
