The Dutch Government has decided to make changes to the tuition fees of the 2021-2022 academic year in light of the Coronavirus pandemic. As such, for the 2021-2022 academic year all students will pay a lower tuition fee than would normally be the case. In regular years, the government sets a tuition fee (statutory fee) and UCR adds a fee for small scale and intensive education. Next to that, non-EEA students need to pay the institutional fee that UCR sets itself.
For 2021-2022 the statutory fee will be halved for all students studying in the Netherlands. For all UCR students this means a reduction of € 1,084.
|Student Group||Original Tuition Fee
|Updated Tuition Fee
|EEA Students||Incoming *||€ 3,543||€ 1,917|
|Already at UCR||€ 3,543||€ 2,459|
|Non-EEA Students||Incoming and Already at UCR||€ 9,091||€ 8,007|
* This fee only applies to students who start their first bachelor in Dutch higher education. These students have been entitled to a regular discount of half the statutory fee since 2018. For 2021-2022 the discount will be an additional € 542.
If you have previously started a bachelor in the Netherlands, the ‘Already at UCR’ fee applies.
More information about costs can be found on the Tuition Fees page.
