The Teacher Award is awarded yearly by Utrecht University, and originated in 1994. There are two categories, namely the Teacher Talent Award, which is aimed at teachers who have just started their career, and the Outstanding Teacher Award for professors who have been teaching for over 5 years. In total, there were 33 nominees for the Teacher Awards, Dr. Andringa is one of the four finalists for the Outstanding Teacher Award. Candidates are nominated by student associations, Dr. Andringa has been nominated by UCR’s Academic Affairs Council (AAC) and Roosevelt’s All Student Association (RASA).
The announcement of the winners will take place during Utrecht University’s annual education day: the Onderwijsparade on Thursday March 5th. The official prize ceremony will take place during Utrecht University’s Dies Natalis on Thursday March 26th.
