20 years UCR
In 2004, UCR, then known as Roosevelt Academy, opened its doors. Founder and then Dean Prof. Hans Adriaansens envisioned a small-scale college, where students could combine subjects in a variety of fields, and live in a small-scale community in the heart of Middelburg. Now 20 years later, UCR has grown into a full-fledged Liberal Arts & Science college, where nearly 600 students spread across 4 campus locations in Middelburg study, live, and live.
Lustrum year
During the lustrum year, various activities will be organized, both for students and staff, as well as for residents of Zeeland. In the lecture series, UCR professors talk about their respective fields in the Burgerzaal of the old Town Hall. Learn about such topics as Immunology, Psychology, Military History, Robotics, Gaming and Politics. Each lecture can be attended separately, in Dutch and admission is free.
On May 25 we host an open day for residents of Zeeland, where people can learn more about what is happening in the old Town Hall that houses UCR. There will be presentations about the program, Q&A sessions with students, faculty, and staff, and there will be an information market.
