In recent years, UCR has participated in the Four Freedoms Awards in Middelburg and New York. These awards celebrate those people and organizations whose achievements have demonstrated a commitment to Franklin D. Roosevelts Four Freedoms: freedom of speech and expression, freedom of worship, freedom from want and freedom from fear. The ceremony has been postponed to next year, but the effort to promote those four freedoms continues.

Together with the Roosevelt Institute for American Studies and the Roosevelt Foundation, students from the Constitutional & Administrative Law class have organized an outreach program. Volunteers will be providing interactive, digital guest lectures for primary and high school pupils between April 14 and 17.  Classes are offered both in Dutch and in English.  The themes for the lectures include: What are the four freedoms? What is their relevance today? What are the Four Freedom Awards?

Schools can sign up until April 8th, more information can be found on the website of the PZC.
