The UCR Board and Board of Trustees are delighted to announce that Dr. Peter Blok of Utrecht University has been appointed as Managing Director ad interim at UCR for the period of 1 November 2020 to 30 April 2021. The UCR Council was heard regarding Dr. Blok’s profile and expressed its support. Dr. Blok is currently delegated commissioner (gedelegeerd opdrachtgever) at Corporate Real Estate and Campus at Utrecht University.
On accepting the position at UCR, Dr. Blok said in a statement:
“I am delighted to be given the opportunity to act as the Managing Director ad interim of UCR in the months ahead. From November 1st until April 30th, I will be working in a secondment from Utrecht University. I have been working in universities all my professional life, first as a researcher and lecturer, and since 1998 in supporting positions at the Universities of Amsterdam and Utrecht. I look forward to getting acquainted with everyone at UCR as soon as possible. Although my appointment is confined to a limited period of time, I hope to be able to add to the success of UCR.”

Between October 2020 and April 2021, the UCR Board of Trustees will continue the selection process for a new Managing Director (also statutory director) to replace Dr. Jorrit Snijder.
