Avani Dongre

Hi! My name is Avani and I’m a first-semester student at UCR from India. I’ve always been interested in understanding different societies and their global impact through the lenses of different disciplines in the liberal arts and sciences. UCR was then an obvious choice because it provided me with the flexibility to explore a diverse range of subjects rather than limiting my scope of education to a particular field! Perhaps the most unique attribute of the UCR community is its dynamic and change-driven attitude, especially through its student initiatives. I am fortunate to study in an environment that allows me to vocalize my thoughts and actively implement them in an accommodating and liberal community of students and faculty. As an international student from Asia, I discover something new about different cultures every day while at the same time educating others about my own experiences. I truly value the acculturation that takes place in an institution that values cultural diversity and integrity of the world!
