 International Diploma Requirements

​Please list your secondary education and the year in which you expect to obtain your diploma. Students currently enrolled in a university are required to include the name of the institution as well as their specific field of study and all current and previous courses. 

English and Mathematics are required subjects for all diplomas. For specific information about your program, please see the overview below.

If you are not sure if your diploma is sufficient, or if no information is listed for your educational background, please contact the Admissions Office well in advance of your proposed year of study and include a clear overview of your educational history.

 

A sample overview of Foreign Diplomas recognized for admission to University College Roosevelt (Should your diploma not be listed, please contact the admissions office, as it may still be recognized):

 
  • International diplomas: International Baccalaureate and European Baccalaureate (IB: Strongly recommended 30 points including TOK, EE, CAS)
  • Austria: Reifezeugnis and Algemeinbildende Hohere Schule
  • Belgium: Getuigschrift Algemeen Secundair Onderwijs and Diplome d'Enseignement Secondaire  Superieure
  • Bulgaria: Diploma za zavurcheno Sredno Obrazovanie (Gymnazium)
  • China: Applicants are advised to contact the NESO office in Beijing
  • Croatia: Maturalna Svjedodzba and Diplome d'Enseignement Secondaire Superieure and  Matura (Gimnazija diploma)
  • Czech Republic: Vysvêdčeni o Maturitni Zkoušce
  • Denmark: Bevis fro Studentereksamen
  • France: Baccalaureat de l'Enseignement de second Degree
  • Germany: Allgemeine Hochschulreife (Abitur)
  • Hungary: Érettségi Bizonyítvány (Gimnazium)
  • Iceland: Stúdentsprúf of the Mentaskoli with the Maladeild / Staerofraedideild profile
  • Ireland: 6 Leaving Certificates (of which at least 2 Higher levels) with a minimum grade H4
  • Israel: Te'udat Bagrut (at least 20 credits, of which at least 3 in English and 4 in Mathematics)
  • Italy: Diploma di Maturità/Diploma di Superamento dell’Esame di Stato Conclusivo dei Corsi di Istruzione Secondario Superiore (liceo classico / scientifco / linguistico)
  • Luxembourg: Diplôme de fin d'Etudes Secondaire, enseignement Classique ou Moderne 
  • Malta: General Certificate of Education with at least 3 subjects at advanced level
  • New Zealand: University Bursaries Examination in at least 4 subjects, carrying sufficient points  for university admittance
  • Norway: Vitnemàl fra den Videregâende skolen (studieretning for allmenne fag) 
  • Poland: Swiadectwo dojrzalosci liceum ogólnoksztalcacego
  • Portugal: Provas General de Acesso ao Ensino Superior and other proof of admission to a  university
  • Romania: Diploma de Bacalareat
  • Slovakia: Gymnázium Diploma
  • Slovenia: Matura (Maturitetno Spricevalo / Gimnazija)
  • Spain: A score of 'apte' on the Prueba de Aptitud / Acesso
  • Sweden: Avgangsbetyg Efter Slutford Larokurs I Gymnasieskolan
  • Switzerland: Maturitat
  • Turkey: Lise Diplomasi with a minimum score of 80 
  • United Kingdom: The GCSE plus 3 A-level GCEs are necessary to be admitted to a Dutch  University. UCR asks for a minimum A-B grade on all A-levels.
  • United States: The American high school level is not the same as a Dutch VWO diploma, so there are additional requirements. Students can complete four Advanced Placement Certificates, in one of two combinations: one math/science AP, one AP elective and two AP languages, of which one is a foreign language; or one foreign language AP, two math/science APs and one AP elective. The Designated Institution (DI) code for UCR is 7859. You can use this code to have your AP-scores sent directly to UCR.
    Students can also apply if they have completed one year of full-time college or university credit. Students can only apply for Transfer of Credit if they have completed an additional semester or year of full-time  college or university credit.
