 Accreditation and ranking

  • UCR is fully accredited by the QANU, the Quality Assurance Netherlands Universities, and the NVAO, the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organization. The latter even awarded UCR’s Liberal Arts and Sciences program the prestigious 'Label of Excellence'. To date, this label has only been awarded to a very select group of Dutch programs, and it indicates that the education at UCR is of the highest standards.

  • In 2014, the NVAO has renewed UCR’s  special qualification of ‘Small-scale and Intensive’ for another 5 years. This is a measure of quality that is only given to  those institutions with the highest classroom interaction, the smallest communities and most intensive academic program.

  • UCR is a faculty of Utrecht University. The 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities, conducted by Shanghai University, ranks Utrecht University as #1 in the Netherlands, #16 in Europe and #57 in the world.
  • Similarly, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2013-2014 places Utrecht University as #4 in the Netherlands, #22 in Europe and #74 in the world.
  • Students and peers in the academic world also highly value UCR. In the 2011 national ranking of bachelor’s programs in the Keuzegids Hoger Onderwijs, UCR landed first place of all university colleges and was amongst the best undergraduate programs in the Netherlands.
  • The extensive Elsevier survey of students in the Netherlands continually ranks UCR among the top 3 university colleges in the Netherlands.
