UCR alumnus Joost Verheggen has won the ‘Roggeveenprijs 2017’ for best research paper. This is the first time that the ‘Roggeveenprijs’ has been awarded. Initiated by the ‘Zeeuws Genootschap’, the prize is meant to celebrate the best research done about topics related to Zeeland. Joost’s winning research is about Remigius Schrijver and was conducted in his final year at University College Roosevelt. With his research, Joost aims to bring to light the life and work of this forgotten Baroque composer from Zeeland. On November 15th, Joost also won the Public Choice Award in the category Humanities at the Student Research Conference.
