 Four Freedoms Contest

The Roosevelt Foundation, in cooperation with University College Roosevelt, invites students from all University Colleges in the Netherlands to submit a column on the theme ‘what does it mean to be free’ to the 2018 Four Freedoms Column Contest. The challenge of this contest is to impress and move your audience in no more than 300 words, which will be delivered in a spoken address during the Four Freedoms Award Ceremony.

The winner will receive a €2500 Four Freedoms student scholarship for a trip to New York.

The winner and two runners up in the contest will be invited to attend the Four Freedoms Award Ceremony on May 16, in Middelburg. The winner will present the winning column during the Four Freedoms Award ceremony to a public of members of the royal family, laureates, dignitaries, and guests. The winner also receives a Four Freedoms student scholarship (€2500,-) for a trip to New York, including a visit to the Roosevelt Institute, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Presidential Library and the United Nations. The winning column and runners up will be published on the website of the Roosevelt Foundation.
