UCR faculty is research active. Faculty member from across the disciplines publish in a variety of top journals and with leading publishers. Faculty give research talks at international and national academic conferences, including invited keynote talks. Many UCR faculty serve on editorial boards of journals and academic organizations, they review article manuscripts, they apply for (and often win) research grants, they edit the work of their peers, they sit as panel members of promotions, they evaluate sister departments in national audits. The full professors within the UCR faculty also supervise Ph.D. candidates. Outreach projects within the local Zeeland community are also paramount to UCR’s research vision. UCR also hosts academic research actives from guest lectures to symposia to large academic conferences. The current research director is Prof. Dr. Michael Burke who also chairs the research committee.
