Ms. Nathalie van de Zande, M.Sc.

Profile

Nathalie van de Zande is not just another University College Roosevelt graduate to return to Middelburg. After graduating summa cum laude from University College Roosevelt in 2008, she worked at the European Hematology Association in The Hague for one year, after which she travelled around the world for six months. In 2010 she returned to Middelburg, from where she pursued a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science/Neuroscience at the University of Antwerp. Upon graduation, she obtained a job at University College Roosevelt as project manager of the Going Glocal programme. She quickly expanded this part-time job by becoming University College Roosevelt's first  PhD-student and also becoming the coordinator of the Wetenschapsknooppunt (Science Focal Point) Zeeland.

With her PhD research she hopes to identify biomarkers in blood and brain(activity) for early stage Alzheimer’s disease, which are usable in the peripheral hospitals in Zeeland.
